When one of the reporters mentioned to Benson that he looked like he dropped his sucker in the mud, his response was interesting, “Oh, I didn’t know I was supposed to be jumping out of my seat or anything,”, “I really have no feelings about it.”.

Huh. No feelings on your team making a move to stay competitive and keep winning? Well that’s a great attitude.

This may seem like nothing but things can change fast. It’s one thing to have two running backs on the team that both could potentially be starters when given the chance. It’s another to have two running backs that have proven they can be starters and both know they can carry the load.

Both of these guys have had or do have attitude problems, and shitty dispositions just don’t disappear. The Bengals have proven they can be a good team when everything is sunny in Cincinnati. But if things get cloudy look out! Near the end of every year a few teams start having a fall from grace. Don’t be surprised if the Bungles Bengals are one of them.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one. If Benson is hurt then the Bengals made the move based on necessity. But if they’re bringing him in with the hopes of having some sort of unstoppable backfield they might be making a crazy decision. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

The Bengals have really turned it around this year and for once they don’t seem to have any kind of inside the locker room problems. But bringing in LJ could change all that. If he’s as much of a douche bag problem as he comes across as being this could create some real problems for the Bengals.

Well next year is an uncapped year. If Larry Johnson signs with someone this year it will probably only be until the end of this season. If he’s given the opportunity he will make the most of it I can assure you of that. So that would give him some pretty hefty leverage going into an uncapped season next year.

My guess is that when a team does sign him, which will undoubtedly be within the next few days, don’t be surprised to see him used sparingly. Assuming that he winds up playing for a contender this may be a good measure of how mature he really is and what he’s really after.

As of right now that’s all I have on this but I’m sure there will be more. I must say I feel quite badly for Larry, it couldn’t have happened to a more professional guy….(that is sarcasm people).

This isn’t the first time Johnson has acted up or caused a scene. He threatened to sit out training camp prior to the 2007 season, in which he later received a hefty contract extension. In 2008 he complained about the number of carries he was getting. During that season he was suspended for a game by his team, then he was benched and then Roger Goodell suspended him for another game.

There is no denying the mans talent, even though he hasn’t seen the same productivity that caught everyones attention in ‘05 and ‘06. When he’s playing well he’s one of the best backs in the league. I think what needs to be questioned is his ability to deal with adversity. He is an obvious physical specimen, but his approach to the business side of things seems to be quite childish. He never seems to be satisfied with his situation, yet he keeps making it more difficult on himself by acting up.

Part of your responsibility when you’re hired by an employer, and making big bucks, is to shut up and do what your told. Larry needs to learn this. Larry also needs to learn that the league is becoming flooded with talent at the running back position, and that a lot of teams are choosing to rotate them. I can’t think of too many teams that would be willing to absorb his contract and have him split carries.
