They added a solid linebacker in Sean Lee out of Penn State. He’s a smart, versatile player and will no doubt find a role on that defense. While safety was more of a concern, the Cowboys drafted a pair of cornerbacks. Akwasi Owusu-Ansah out of Indiana (PA) and Jamar Wall out of Texas Tech are similar type players, They’re both fast, special teams standouts that will give the Cowboys decent depth at corner. Offensive line was an area that needed attention. Notre Dame giant Sam Young will look to come in and eventually compete at that right tackle spot.

The defensive line also needed a little help so they drafted William and Mary tackle Sean Lissemore. He’s a little undersized, but his athletic ability should find him a roster spot. As usual, the Cowboys drafted size and athleticism. It hasn’t necessarily been working for them as of late, but maybe things will change this year.

This is no doubt the Cowboys biggest game of the year. It’s a Saturday night game in New Orleans with the Cowboys season hanging in the balance. It’s what the NFL hopes and prays for every year.

Of course, leave it to the Cowboys to talk some smack leading into the game. Roy Williams said that this is just round one for these two teams, implying they’ll meet again in the playoff. I’m not sure if Roy has been keeping pace with what’s going on in the NFL, or his team for that matter.

This game isn’t just big for Dallas, the Saints want it bad too. If they win this game they’re one step closer to home field advantage throughout the playoffs. And if you don’t think the Saints want to clobberknock the Cowboys at home in front of a good majority of the NFLs fans you’re obviously a Dallas fan.

The bottom line is the Cowboys can talk turkey all they want but they’ve got to go out and prove they have what it takes to win in December. Nobody has seen a Dallas team show up this late in the year since the days of Troy Aikman.

If Dallas has a good showing in New Orleans it could provide a boost of confidence, something this team has been missing down the stretch of the past few seasons.

When asked about it Jerry Jones says he sees no problems with it. Romo came in bright and early for back tratment following the vacation and that’s all that matters to Jones.

I don’t even know where to start with this. But this story has the same ending every year and it’s always disappointing for Dallas fans. Excuse the tangent but I’m going to go off a little here.

Tony Romo will never reach elite status in this league as an NFL quarterback until he changes his attitude. Elite quarterbacks in this league show a level of maturity and professionalism that Romo has no idea exists.

Elite quarterbacks don’t take mid season vacations to Vegas. Dallas has a huge game coming up this week against the Giants. Guys like Peyton and Tommy would be studying film like crazy. Romo figures he’s ahead of the curve.

Elite quarterbacks are steady in their demeanor, they aren’t pouting on the sidelines when losing and they aren’t yukin it up when they have a lead going into the second half of a game.

And elite quarterbacks sure as shit aren’t holders for field goals. And if they were, you can bet they wouldn’t screw up the snap.

The bottom line is that Tony Romo doesn’t take football as seriously as he should. Yea it’s just a game, but he’s getting paid millions of dollars and treating it like a weekend job in high school.

You can say whatever you want about Romo taking the game seriously and that he’s a competitive guy and wants to win. But his actions and the results speak for themselves.

The Eagles played well without him on Sunday taking out the Giants with relative ease, but having him back is definitely an added bonus. They are gonna need him this Sunday when the Dallas Cowboys come into Philadelphia. This is a big game for both teams. Dallas is already 0-1 in the division and Philly is 2-0. If Dallas loses this game it’s going to put them in a diifcult position to regain the lead from the Eagles in a tight  NFC East race.

This signing along with the emergence of playmakers like Miles Austin, Tashard Choice and Felix Jones has Dallas positioned well. This is the time of year where teams want to start hitting their stride and Dallas seems like they’re doing just that. If they can get Roy Williams and Marion Barber back and fully healthy they are going to be a tough out late in the season. Miles Austin has been another boost of confidence for the team, and more importantly Tony Romo. This team definitely flies the way Tony does and Austin is giving Romo that home run threat in the passing game. This is something they’ve been missing since they got it at times from Terrell Owens

Although they are 0 and 1 in the division, there is lots of football yet to be played. Washington made Philadelphia look a little better than where their at right now and the Giants are having their struggles. If Dallas can keep up the level of performance it may allow them to pull ahead of the pack a little in the NFC East. And in an ultra competitive division, that could make the difference.
