What’s in the future for Delhomme and the Panthers?
I’m pretty sure Jake Delhomme would like to forget this season and just pocket the money he hornswoggled away from the Panthers before the season started. Quite frankly I don’t blame him.
Delhomme is having the worst year of his rocky career. On Sunday he added 4 more interceptions to his stats and helped guide the Panthers to another painful loss. It’s pretty safe to say the Panthers won’t be making the playoffs. So where does that put them going into next season? As it stands right now, directly in the shitter.
The Panthers made a big commitment to Delhomme prior to this season and he’s not proving his worth. There needs to be changes in Carolina and sticking with Delhomme could prove to be a mistake. He’s always been a very streaky, up and down quarterback, and it seems that his peaks are getting lower and his valleys are getting deeper.
The Panthers are going to have to make some big offseason moves to right the ship. Where it starts is anyones guess. But don’t be surprised if it starts with Fox. Fox is Delhommes biggest fan, so if he goes Jake becomes a lot less popular in Carolina. Right now Delhomme is gonna need all the fans he can get. If he keeps playing the way he has been he’s gonna have to use part of that big contract to buy a few.
